way to Cambridge
This is to assist you coming to Cambridge
from different directions.
1. Coming
to GB:
You can
fly in by plane,
come with the train
and car by Eurostar

2. Coming
to Cambridge.

Depending
on your travelling selection and first destination you can
a.) arrive
at an airport closer than London (Luton or Stansted)
There are frequent trains from Stansted to London during the day. Currently
there is an hourly direct train service to Cambridge during the day,
with a journey time of about 40 minutes.
Some budget airlines (e.g. EasyJet) use Luton airport, which is about
35 miles from Cambridge. No intercontinental flights operate from Luton.
Contact the Luton Airport web site for a list of operating companies.
There is no efficient train connection from Luton
airport to Cambridge, but there is a coach service (JetLink 787)
once every two hours, departing just outside the terminal building.
It takes about 1.5 hours to reach Cambridge.
Using a bus:
There is more than one bus service. Try the National
Express timetables.
Car: If you rent a car take the M11 North.
From there
you can
b) London
- Heathrow
You can get from Heathrow to Cambridge by train. Either (1) take the
Underground (Piccadilly Line) to King's Cross station (about 45 minutes)
or (2) take the Heathrow Express to Paddington (15 minutes) and then
the Underground (Circle Line or Hammersmith & City Line) to King's
Cross (another 15 minutes). From King's Cross get a train to Cambridge.
There is a frequent train service between Cambridge and London to either
King's Cross station or Liverpool Street station. The trip from King's
Cross takes about one hour; Liverpool Street line trains are much slower.
Fast trains leave roughly every half hour during the day. However, there
is a five or six hour gap between about midnight and about 6 a.m. when
no trains run between the two cities.
3. Coming
