The 13th ESWC

13 is a prime number and something special. Not that it is a Fibonacci number and somehow Italian (1202 book Liber Abaci!) but going beyond the perfection of the 12 it symbolizes the step forward in human thinking. The European Software Conference (ESWC) was an expression of that will to form and determine, to leave an imprint on technology and mind.

The Epsilon Award was won by Oscar Santonella from Tuxera with their product Tuxera NTFS for Mac. That is remarkable in many ways. It shows the transition of development and coming from Open Source background option how independent developers nowadays stay with their tradition and have become part of well respected and market-driven companies.
